Just spotted this at the Zach Scott web site, listed for their 2006-2007 season:

Quote:
The Rocky Horror Show
by Richard O'Brien
Directed by Dave Steakley

You've been asking us to bring it back for 6 years! Let's do the Time Warp again! Turn yourself over to absolute pleasure with the return of ZACH's hit cult, classic musical spoof of your favorite midnight horror and sci-fi movies. Dr. Frank N. Furter, the sweet transvestite whose spike heels ignite the party nightly with hilarious abandon, seizes center stage in ZACH's production that was named the Best Musical in Austin. The most fun, interactive Halloween celebration ever in Austin will have you shivering with an-tic-i... (SAY IT!!!) ...pation!

Their runs in 1999 and 2000 were fabulous I must say, with Joe York as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The only things that annoyed me about that production were the silly Y2K references, which shouldn't be a problem this time around. :) Don't see any dates or casting listed yet, so we'll have to wait and see.

So it's running from October 5th through November 12th. That's actually pretty soon. Whee!

Looks like Joe York will be reprising his role as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Though my heart will always belong with Lee Marshall as Frank on stage, Joe York was in fact quite good during the 1999-2000 run. 8) Not sure when individual tickets are gonna go on sale for this (they're currently selling season tickets only I believe).

No single tickets on sale as of yet - online at least.

Wow, thats quite an interesting hat he has on there. I am much more fond of Lee Marshall's wigs personally. But it's always nice to see each productions take on the costumes.

Still no tickets on sale... but at any rate I happened to hear on the KLBJ morning show today that they were interviewing someone from the Keepin' It Weird production at Zach Scott. Next thing I know they're talking about the upcoming Rocky Horror Show there, and Dale Dudley launches into singing about the first half of Sweet Transvestite. Scary.

I saw a ticket price of $20 posted elsewhere which may or may not be accurate, since I still don't see tickets for sale online yet at least. Keep in mind that Zach Scott has reserved seating, so if a group of people want to go together... you'll need to buy your tickets together also.

Hi Shawn. I want to invite you and the folks at Queerios to join Zachary Scott Theatre for the return of the one and only Rocky Horror Show. Joe York plays the beloved Dr. Furter for another all out, no-holds-barred adventure of unmatched hysteria and sensuality. You can take advantage of our early seating and group discounts by replying directly to me via email, or by phone at 476-0594 x221. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Thanks,
Joel

The last time this ran, I believe James set up a group outing at one of the shows for Joanna's birthday. It was kind of a pain to set up though, since I think he probably had to pay for all the tickets up front and then collect the money from each of us (so that we could have all our seats together). Nonetheless, it would be cool if we could arrange some particular night for most of us that are wanting to go to this.

Commune-
a small group of persons living together, sharing possessions, work, income, etc., and often pursuing unconventional lifestyles.

 ::sigh:: okay, okay- now i'll admit to the fact.

Yow! Ticket prices are in the $35-$48 range, depending on day of the week for the show and such. Plus the usual "service charges" and other crap. Having $11.50 worth of "fees" just to buy two tickets seems... rather silly.

And they freakin' wonder why people don't go to the theater much any more. At those prices, they should at least offer free handjobs.

Holy crap, their prop bags are $10:

Quote:
Get the full ROCKY experience!

Purchase your Participation Pack with your tickets online now, and it will be waiting for you in the theatre lobby when you arrive! Packaged in a classic popcorn box, your participation kit includes everything you need for the audience participation portions of the show from water pistols to flashlights to toast!

I think that's the same price as it was on Broadway. I just don't get all the fees. For two tickets on a Saturday night:

$48.00 (ticket) + $4.50 (fee) = $52.50
$48.00 (ticket) + $4.50 (fee) = $52.50
SUBTOTAL: $105.00
Order Processing Fee: $2.50
TOTAL: $107.50

If they need the ticket price to be higher, then just freaking increase it instead of burying the increased cost in random "fees". Mind you, I'm still going to go one night. It is nice sometimes to see higher budget productions than the usual local theater groups. Rocky Horror Show on Broadway was fucking expensive, but good lord... that was by far the best show I've ever seen. Their Phantoms were better singers and actors than the primary characters on most casts. Not to mention that whole mechanical rotating stage thing, and the sheer comedic value of being able to yell lines about Dick Clark while he's performing as the Narrator. Anyway...
