"Rocky Horror Show," Woodlawn Theater, 1920 Fredericksburg Road, July 18-Aug. 23: Sure, you've seen the movie. But have you seen the theatrical version of the camp classic? Actors Theater of San Antonio is producing it, under Gregory Hinojosa's direction.

The cast includes Dylan Collins as Riff Raff, Garry Hoeffler as Brad, Valori Ghidoni as Janet and Lee Marshall as Dr. Frank N. Furter.

After the initial run this summer, the show will continue as a late show Saturday nights through Halloween. Call (210) 738-2872.

This is a full scale production of The Rocky Horror Show (i.e. the stage play, not the movie) with Lee Marshall as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Lee has been an oustanding Frank in several venues around San Antonio over the years, both on stage in other productions of The Rocky Horror Show and in the old theater cast at the Central Park Fox. When/if I find a newspaper clipping with the picture of him as Frank from a previous production, I'll scan and post that. Some may have seen Lee Marshall more recently as Mistress Lee performing weekly at the Boyz Cellar drag shows, often performing a wonderful Marilyn Monroe. Don't miss this.

Anyone feel like going to see the show in San Antonio? We could make a weekend roadtrip of it. I was thinking Aug. 16 or the 23.

I've already got stuff planned for the first two weekends in August, so why not make it three weekends in a row...:D An August 16th expedition to see the Lee would rule.

I would love to go too, school starts up again on the 19th, but that doesn't really affect anything. I'm sure Morgan would want to go too, we just need a ride, and need to know how much tickets cost so we can beg from our mum. :?

Plenty of room in the minivan, so I could certainly take you two. I'll probably have to call down there and find out how much tickets are.

Thanks Shawn. By the way, do you know anything more about the "Los Bastardos" startup? My "friend that needs to be reminded of what he's missing" lives up near Dallas and used to go see Los Bastardos. (on his band's website used to be a really cute picture of him in drag) So once they get a print, I'd like to go up there with y'all, and meet him up there. :handkiss: Yay!!!! Lemme know when you find out stuff.
Thanx,
Whitney

Keep checking their web site: http://www.losbastardos.com/main.html. Nothing new yet apart from another weekday show at The Rock. Still waiting for a new date for their actual grand re-opening type thingie.

All this can be yours for just $15... And it looks like August 16th is still a go. My sister, her boyfriend, and Wayne will likely be joining us there in San Antonio also.

Well, let's see, the last posting on this was August 18th, but I figure resurrecting long forgotten discussions can't always be a bad thing. Anyway, I was just picturing a second (my first) "field trip" to the RHPS thing in San Antonio. I know it's ending semi-soon, thought it might be potentially very fun  so anyway, tell me what you tihnk,

I got to go see it these past two weekends and, my oh my, was it ever fun! If you haven't made time to do this yet, I implore you to reconsider. I lent their Riff Raff (Dylan Collins) my space suit and got myself in free! I know what you're thinking... Uncle Satan got into Rocky Horror free? How could that happen?

Satan lives! I'll be going back down there one last time on October 25th, possibly with a few people. Hopefully I'll see you there.

My work schedule has not been condusive to doing things on the weekends of late. In fact, it was because of a vacation that I was able to attend the past couple of shows. However, I 've got a new manager at work which may change the way weekends are scheduled. At any rate, I may try burning a couple of vacation days to go see it again. This last saturday, I took my nephew and a ladyfriend to the play and they are both keen on seeing RHPS at your theatre next time we all have a friday or saturday free (the ladyfriend was at opening night when they brought RHPS back here (briefly) a couple of years ago.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing you soon.

My new manager at work has been very cool about getting me off the clock early enough to go to the Woodlawn for Rocky Horror. I've been to four of the last five showings and will be back again this Saturday (11/1/03). I sent e-mails to as many old cast members here as I have e-dresses for (which is sadly few) asking them to not only try to attend but to contact as many of the old ones as they could so we could try to fill the room with freaks. Tragically, I've only gotten a couple of replies. I'd like to see a few of you there as well, my extended family from 35north. And I most certainly hope to see you at your best this Friday, as I shall, barring unforeseen weirdness, be attending your fair theatre for Halloween.

According to the Current (a free newsweekly in SA that tries, but fails, to be the Austin Chronicle for this end of the I-35 corridor), last week was the last week of the Rocky Horror Show. According to the Express-News (SA's local paper), this weekend is the end of weeks for Rocky. Yet the folks at the Woodlawn Theatre seem to think it'll still be there next weekend. I'm going to try to keep track on this as it developes and keep you all posted. If it is still happening next weekend, I'll let you know so that any of you who aren't playing in Austin Saturday will have the chance to see Lee out-Frank Tim Curry himself.

Well I already made a reservation for the 22nd, so they'd better have the decency to have a show to go along with that...

This morning I verified that there will indeed be a showing of the Rocky Horror Show at the woodlawn Theatre this saturday, 11-22-03. Hope to see some of you there. If you plan on going, getting reservations early is better than late (as Shawn can attest).
