Drag Queens

Does anyone think they would interested in participating in a drag show one Friday (since Rocky is on Saturday)? I'm in Waco and we rarely get to see any new, young faces (unless there's a special show). I've been wanting to get a group of people together to do an amature drag queen and king show. Let me know if you'd be interested and we'll work something out!! By the way the crowd will tip good, and even better if you can really work them up!!

well just imagine that you're playing ur favorite part in Rocky and the crowd means nothing.. just pick your favorite few songs (that you can lip snyc) and get busy with making up a routine for it.. for example: tall, thin guys with a great wig make perfect Cher(s), it's whatever you want to do. Song + Dance + Acting = Fun!!

i'd love to. i dress in drag quite often for rocky, but i've never performed. right now, though, things are kinda busy. two or three weeks from now would be good. haha.

holli, you and me could work up an act to "heartbreaker" haha. i think they'd be underimpressed though. we take out the mature in amateure. ok..that was lame. but yea.. no experience, but lots of energy and enthusiasm. haha.

Ahem... if "Heartbreaker" is on your minds then perhaps I could be involved? I do have a Pat Benetar CD in good condition and I've been told I make a pretty lady--a cosmically powerful, telekinetic, mutant, lady--but a lady none-the-less.

Just a thought.

If it wasn't on such short notice and I had the money to spend on apparal... I'd be up for it this week as well, but as it stands: Phoenix is broke.

yeah the show I want to plan wont be for a few weeks because the club has other stuff going on for the next few fridays.. I think it would be awesome if someone would volunteer to do Sweet Transvestite and dress the part nicely :wink:

but let's try to get the word spread and I'll try to really make this happen!

And if no one else is up for it, and it's not on August 12 or 13, James just might be up for that sweet t thing... he does miss playing since he can't do Saturdays... unless they want a female Frank, which is always cool to behold from MY perspective.
This sounds great. It's been way too long since we went and did drag in Waco! (What, 5 years?)

well it'll depend on the number of under 21's there are gonna be.. i can talk the owner into letting us do the show on a Friday for 18+ and since most of y'all know eachother maybe y'all can all pitch in for gas and come together in less vehicles?!? It'll be fun! But I'm still working on the details! Under 21 will ofcourse have to be marked the black x's or something of the sort, be sure to bring ID or you can't get in! (as with any club)

I was here before you and I will be here after he is tired of you!!! By, the way...I'm soooooooo kidding....I love you!!! Okay people! The details are coming to action. We're looking at hopefully the August 26th or September 2.. that is PLENTY of time for planning, costume purchases (if need be) and working on a few routines. Like I said there will be tipping, as long as you can work your audience (and I know YOU can!) and talks about a cash prize at the end of show. Try to encourage more people to check out the forum.. I'm getting excited for this!

I guess now I finally commence the total hell of replacing my lost ID... it better be a good show, to make up for all the beurocratic ass-fucking I'm in for (when I'm ancient and don't even drink... I may need one when i'm done dealing with the DMV...and I don't even drive! joy, joy, joy does NOT await me at any point in this project...) (my original birth certificate was destroyed in a flood but at least I finally seem to have an acceptable copy of my social security card I unearthed at mom's....) please wish me luck....

Good news I've talked to the owner of the club and he's gonna look at the date and see if we can do it Aug 26th I will repost if the date changes. I hope everyone is getting ready for this! Spead the word and try to come up with great routines!! I can't wait for this show!! Check around and see if anyone else is interested in doing the show!!

I sang "I Enjoy Being A Girl" for an audition once. I wasn't in drag and had a full beard, and I sang it in my baritone voice, but it was fun. I didn't get the part, though.

I had a beard for many years, and a friend of mine, who also did, thought we should put on dresses in Houston and show up at the bars on "Ladies' Night" to get free drinks.
