Post subject:  Transgender Day Of Rememberence

Next Friday, November 18 @ McNeil Highschool in room C124 afterschool (4:15pm)
The Gay-Straight Alliance is celebrating the Transgender Day of Rememberence (actually on November 20) by watching a movie called "Ma Vie En Rose" (My Life In Pink) and having people come talk about what it's like to be transgender. By people I mean the sexinesses of Brenton(Serra) and Erin(Erin).
It's free, and anyone is welcome.
I'd really like it if people would come and show support. If not for transgenders, than for me since I'm the president of the GSA and it's the first year we've done this.
Love, Jessiy

Whatever you do, don't let that Hitler-esque assclown Sergeant Aaron hear about it... he'll do his best to force it all to shut down for the sake of his precious soul.

... GOD I hate that fucker. I wish I could make it but it's my last day of work :(

My apologies, dears, but I won't be there either. I wish you the best, however, and love you for thinking to include me.

Everyone who can should go, and if you know any other sufferers/celebrants of gender dysphoria, invite them. Or speak about your experiences if any with transgendered friends, family, and assorted loved ones.

I feel pretty bad about bailing on Jessiy, in case you can't tell. The least I can do is encourage.

Incidentally, tomorrow's festivities, so to speak, give me reason to explain and request a few things.

EDIT: I forgot to actually say it when I originally posted. I mean, context makes it pretty clear, obviously, but just for the sake of being formal: I'm MTF transgendered, on hormones as of October.

Tonight I'm going to go home, call my father, and tell him everything. He knows but he's living in denial. He thinks I'm just confused. He doesn't know I'm on hormones, dating a lesbian, etc. He still calls me by my birth name--if you know it, never utter it in my presence, please--and I can't take that anymore.

So I'm probably going to spend the majority of Friday drunk.

On a related note, I would very much appreciate it if everyone on cast will make the effort to refer to me by female pronouns. Some of you do so already and I appreciate it greatly. Those of you who don't, don't worry. I understand the change can be difficult, and if you slip I won't be offended. All I ask is that you try.

This isn't a pity party, just so you know. I'm just tired of not being wholly open with who I am.

Well I had no idea about any of this before you posted, but I shall try my dear Erin ^_^

Ah good, glad I wasn't the only one confused about why Erin would be giving a talk about what it's like being transgendered. I can give a talk about what it's like being a straight man who loves show tunes and drag queens, if you like.

I still love you Erin. In fact I now declare you my new lesbian lover since I asked Becca to marry me.
If things happen to change you can call me, and if you can't get me on my number you can almost always get me on Tony's.

Mm. Apologies. For some reason I thought the thing was this Friday. I'll see if I can't take some time off work and get my lesbian ass out there.

Kim might take issue with you having my kittens. Naw, she's easy-going. She won't care. ^_^

Unfortunately (and I do mean that) I will be in Corpus next Friday taking care of a bunch of business for mom... (back Saturday, probably just in time for Rocky)... Good luck. Ma Vie en Rose is a really good film (somewhere I have a copy off IFC) and a nice choice to show for this I think. I hope all goes well.
Erin, I hope I haven't slipped and called you "he"... I don't remember doing it (I've known for awhile you're transgendered) and I think I've always just said "Erin"... I THINK of you as she... anyway... So good luck to you as well... My father was quite hateful to me about my preference for women (i.e., "If I'd known when you were a baby you'd turn out like this, I'd have smothered you in your crib", etc.) but in the end, my life's turned out happier than his did and the family I found for myself loved me and accepted me... so it really will be okay.
Have any of you seen the "TransGeneration" series on either IFC or Sundance Channel? It's a documentary miniseries about transgendered young people. (I have digital cable but one of my cats puked on the converter box and fried it, for like the third time, so I missed most of October's digital cable offereings waiting for James to get offf work in time to go exchange the thing ... Time Warner has been really nice, like, oh, another hairball?, here's a new box, amazingly enough...) Anyway thanks to my little destructive furballs, I haven't gotten to see it yet... I think it's in 6 installments. When I get back form CC maybe I could try to tape it for you all if you like..

Thank you very much. We chould use the support. It feels like everyone in our school district is against us. Say something that isn't of Christian nature and be damned!

Of course not. We're actually still in Austin, but that's a whole stupid mess. It would be nice if people were to come, because we're lacking support. However, It's perfectly understandable if people can't make it or just don't want to come.
