That's a pretty old site. It's been hacked a number of times, sending visitors to other sites like www.GodHatesFredPhelps.com. I'd find it amusing, actually, but so many people actually believe that crap.

One of the Rocky showings in Wichita at the Orpheum Theater was apparently going to be the target of a Fred Phelps demonstration, I recall. Think that was cancelled for one reason or another. Alas. Yeah, he got his first big national publicity I believe by bringing "God Hates Fags" picketers to Matthew Shephard's funeral in '98. A real class act.

It also means I can totally make shit up, just like Fred Phelps. I can freely scream things like "Fred Phelps causes cancer" or "Fred Phelps can only get an erection by nailing puppies to barn walls and throwing hammers at them," and as long as it doesn't hurt his credibility or his career, it's game. Though I'm not exactly sure how you hurt a career like "shrieking homophobic loonball," anyway.

Yeah, free speech, whatever, people are free to spew homophobia and make asses out of themselves, and free speech is for everyone. However, i think the reason most thinking humans despise this man and wish he'd be wiped of the face of the earth like shit off someone's ass isn't even so much his hateful ranting (we've all heard this shit before) as the crass and heartless way he tortures the family and loved ones of murder victims and other deceased people by picketing funerals and claiming that the deceased went to hell, etc. That's wht's truly tacky, and makes him seem like a monster. Matthew Shepard's poor mother, after everything else , was subjected to this when burying her murdered child. Not only was he killed by homophobes, more of them then drove across the country just to picket his funeral and insult him and the mourners. I'd think that anyone wh's ever had to bury a loved one would recognize that behavior as just hideous, whther it's technically legal or not.

As a note, I am insulted by this Fred Phelps retard but I am indifferent toward the gay populace. Does that make me an asshole or homophobe or enemy of free speech?

I also see flag burning, as a form of free speech, to be one of the most idiotic ideas ever shat into existence. That sort of thing is identical to what that absolute monkey is doing.
