|Post subject:||free Sinus Show if you're naked|
A full day of film fun, if you so desire, ending as all good Sundays do with sitting around naked.
SUNDAY, JULY 16, 2006
Alamo Drafthouse Downtwon
THE BEACH BOYS IN LONDON
Whitehead's rare document of the Beach Boys' 1967 UK Tour. The film features the Beach Boys at their peak; Brian Wilson stayed in Los Angeles to finish recording Smile, leaving the Beach Boys to fly to London by popular demand.
NOTHING TO DO WITH ME
Peter philosophizes to the camera in a remarkable autobiographical document recorded just after his return from filming the traumatic events depicted in THE FALL (which will play in this series on 31 July).
7 PM, 98 minutes
1971, starring Ringo Starr, Theodore Bikel, and Keith Moon
"The Ultimate Story of Sex and Rock'n'Roll"
with Pamela Des Barres live in person
"Touring makes you crazy," Frank Zappa says, explaining that the idea for this film came to him while the Mothers of Invention were touring. The story, interspersed with performances by the Mothers and the Royal Symphony Orchestra, is a tale of life on the road. The band members' main concerns are the search for groupies and the desire to get paid.
The Sinus Show presents:

GET IN FREE IF YOU'RE NUDE!
DIRECTOR: DORIS WISHMAN 1961 35MM 83 minutes UNRATED
The Sinus boys join Dr. Huntley and Professor Nichols to the Moon, where they find a lush garden paradise rather than a barren wasteland -- and are captured by virtually naked telepathic humanoids! This is the first movie the Sinus guys ever performed!
Notes to nudists:
PLEASE bring your own towel to sit on as a courtesy to other guests. If you don't bring a towel, we will provide a trash bag for you to sit on.
Also, if you want to make a reservation for free nude admission tickets, please email email@example.com

the whole sit-on-a-towel thing is a good idea.... and otherwise- depending on the theater its held in- they might get confetti stuck to their ass...

James got in free to the last Nude On The Moon showing they did. Smell the roses!

That was so long ago I'm not sure if he had the roses yet... He wore my big plaid bathrobe that I used to wear as a winter coat (that he FUCKIN LOST somewhere later...grrr.. still pining for that garment) til we got inside... the people that came and sat next to us were really freaked out when they actually realized they were sitting next to anactuasl naked man (and not any naked man, but a naked James to boot)
Any nudist gathering will ask people to bring a towel to sit on... It's like nudist etttiquette. James was going to join Hill Country Nudists and we att4ended a few of their meetings and really enjoyed them.. ther was a dinner in the back room of a Mexican restaraunt, where the waiter and I were the only ones clothed. (People kept telling me there were all kinds of body types there, etc., and I kept trying to explain that even when I was thinner, I always required a few layers of protective coating to feel safe in a crowd...)
On a rlated note, James and I got to see Doris Wishman, the director of "Nude on the Moon" in person at the downtown Alamo; she was older than God and just a total pistol (she passed away not long afterward)... this wan't at "Nude on the Moon" but at a screening of her Chesty Morgan movies... The one of hers I really want to see is "A Night to Dismember"... it's a horror movie, supposed to be really terribl;e and Annie Sprinkle is in it!
