Post subject:  Michael Stipe, old school Rocky Horror fan
This popped up in my Google News feed. It's an old television clip from a local St. Louis, Missouri news station in the late '70s where they're doing one of those "What the heck is this Rocky Horror phenomenon?" type news pieces. Apparently Michael Stipe (of R.E.M.) went to high school in Collinsville, Illinois and frequented the Rocky Horror showings in St. Louis. If you go to around 1:25 into the video, you'll see Michael Stipe in full Dr. Frank-N-Furter costume and makeup. Fabulous. 8)

Marti Brom, the rockabilly singer, who lived here a long time and played a lot at the Broken Spoke and Continental Club, was interviewd by the Austin Chronicle a few years back... she's friends with Michael Stipe and mentioned that they met as teenagers at Rocky up north.
Eric posted this on the 80s reunion page and it made me feel very nostalgic for the early Rocky days.
