So guessing there are a few fans of the books and movies Alamo is doing HARRY POTTER-A-THON

Tickets for the Potter-a-thon will be available on Thursday, June 16th at 10am on our website http://drafthouse.com/austin for our South Lamar and Lake Creek locations.

This July the very last installment of the series will hit screens. It's the end of an era, really. And while we can't wait to see the conclusion of THE DEATHLY HALLOWS, we did wander around in a funk for a little while wishing we actually had a time-turner so we could relive all of Harry and the gang's adventures on the big screen again. Then, we came up with the next best (non-magical) solution: An epic, day-long marathon viewing of ALL the Harry Potter films leading up to the midnight premiere of DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2. And by "day," we mean an ENTIRE DAY (and well into the night), from SORCERER'S STONE all the way through HALLOWS PART 2 -- that's over 20 hours of Potter watching! Expect plenty of tasty food and drink specials to help keep you going. So come in your comfiest wizard robes or muggle clothes and prepare to camp out in the theater with us as we give Harry and company a proper heroic cinematic send-off!

(Note: Tickets for the Marathon and the final film, DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2, will be sold separately. Not to worry though, we will have tickets for the midnight of DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2 reserved exclusively reserved for Marathon attendees to purchase)

I'd like to try to go, too! I've missed several of the movies and what could be a better time to catch up? Do they have a date posted yet?

Quote:
The Potter-a-thon begins at 4:30am sharp on Thursday, July 14th and ends with a midnight screening of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS Part 2. However, due to distributor regulations we have to sell the ticket to the midnight separately from the ticket to the Potter-a-thon. The $70 Potter-a-thon tickets get you access to the first seven Harry Potter movies. In order to make sure you keep the same cozy spot you have had all day, we will reserve you a ticket to the midnight premiere of HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS Part 2 in your same theater. Once the marathon starts you stay right in the very same spot all the way through to the end.
...
We have heard the cries for the option to see the Potter-a-thon accompanied by the premier of the final film in 2D so the midnight screening that accompanies the Potter-a-thon will be 2D.

Tickets for the Potter-a-thon will be available on Thursday, June 16th at 10am on our website for our South Lamar and Lake Creek locations.

I'd have to take a day off from work, but... hmmmmmm. Very cool that they're doing the final film in 2D also. Nonetheless, that's straight movies from 4:30am one day until just after 2:00am the next day. Holy hell.

I'm not sure I could stay up for almost 24 hours watching movies, even if it is as epic as Harry Potter! XD

Too rich for my blood. I think I'm going to borrow Bobbi's copies and have a marathon on my couch during recovery. It will be excellent!
