There is a primary coming up in March. The following information is for Democrats -- Republicans, you're on your own. If you want to participate, you need to register to vote before February 9, 2004. You can start the process online at http://www.state.tx.us/travisco/voter/home.htm After the polls close on election day, there will be a caucus meeting (it usually starts at abt 7:15 PM) near the polling location. For example, in Precinct 252, we usually meet in the Pillow Elementary School cafeteria. If you have proof that you have voted (they stamp your voter registration card when you vote or give you a receipt if you don't bring your registration card), you can participate. The caucus is where resolutions are presented and delegates to the county convention are chosen. How many delegates each candidate is allotted depends to some degree on how many individuals show up at the caucus meeting. You must be a registered voter and vote to participate in the caucus.
