Ok.......... so I want to bleach my hair for this weekends show but uhhh....my hair is black and everyone keeps telling me it can't be done. I think there has to be some way to do it.....if you know of a way tell me. The people at sally's ???......... I think....said bleach wouldn't do anything and peroxide would turn it orange but we tried peroxide anyway and nothing really happened.

its kinda better to use a little bleach at first so you dont fuck up your scalp, and you probably wont be able to get your hair blonde on the first time. and if you dont know anybody that knows what there doing i suggest a professional.

terrible experiences with bleach (ask the twins),

I've tried to get black out, believe me, it's a bitch. The best way to get the black out is either A- pay for a professional, or B- let it grow out. I'm still paying for when I had black hair. The last few inches of my hair is semi-fried from all the trauma, despite how many proteins I've put in my hair.

Shave your head and go topless -- it'll do you no harm.

David, full of good advice or something

or get powdered bleach. It makes black hair go from black to blond. No orange. You have to wear gloves, though, because even if you get it on your hands, it will bleach the melanin out of your skin. Don't get it directly on your scalp either, or it will burn. It helps if you have someone (like chibbi) to do it for you, otherwise, you'll miss spots. It's super concentrated, so it doesn't take a lot.

I used powdered bleach on mine and on Brad's when we were trying to get the black out of his hair originally. If it's been black for awhile, good fucking luck with that powdered bleach and welcome to fried hair hell.

Shaving your head would be another alternative though.

And yes, it was stuff from Sally's, and yes, I used the highest potency of developer there is. I still have some left. A lot left, actually.

Yeah, I was going to go platinum blonde, and then neon pink, but it was fucked.
I've been meaning to go pick up the rest of my bleach and developer from Sarah for almost a year now...so, I've lived this long without it, I'll be fine, if you need it, she has it. I left some uber-conditioner over there as well, if she knows where that is.

Thanks...... but I already bleached it twice so no more for a good while. Something weird happened though.....I tried to dye it black cherry (this really pretty purplish redish color) but nothing happened!!!!!! I think I will try it again and this time I'm going to dry it with my blow dryer for like 15 min and then wash it out. I so surprised I have hair still after all the shit I have done to it this week!!!!

Personally, I wouldn't have bleached it so much in such a short amount of time. Be careful with your hair otherwise you'll end up with straw.

By the way -- as a general rule, if your hair is too damaged, it may not take colour as easily ESPECIALLY but not limited to reds which fade easily anyway. Good luck. I once had mine bleu for years and miss it so.
