At "Glee's" second Comic-Con appearance, creator Ryan Murphy and members of the cast dropped a few hints about the upcoming season on Sunday.

The Gleeks gathered at the Con learned that there will be a "Rocky Horror Picture Show"-themed episode, and that the number of songs this season would only be five or six, instead of eight (citing a desire to bring the show "back to its roots" and focus more on the story).

During a panel discussion at Comic-Con this past weekend, Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy revealed that the show’s writers are working up an episode devoted to the twisted, Transylvania tunes of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. According to Hollywood Reporter, Murphy says he got the idea from Chris Colfer (Emmy nominated for his portrayal of Glee character Kurt Hummel), who mentioned wanting to do a rendition of “Time Warp” next season.

Soon, the cast of Glee will learn which parts they'll be playing in their Halloween episode send-up of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. "It's the most closely guarded secret on set at the moment," says Naya Rivera (Santana). If it were up to the actors, here's who they'd play:

Lea Michele (Rachel): "I'm so excited to do it. If Rachel ends up doing the Susan Sarandon role that would be really cool!"

Cory Monteith (Finn): "I might be in some Brad briefs, let's put it that way. But I don't know for sure."

Jane Lynch (Sue): "I would love to be the Narrator."

Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina): "There's Magenta. She could be fun."

Chris Colfer (Kurt): "I pray that I'm Riff Raff because he's the best one. He sings 'Time Warp.' From the time we shot the pilot I've been stressing to Ryan Murphy how much I want to sing 'Time Warp.'"

But the real question is this: Which character would you like to see suit up in lace stockings as the sweet transvestite Frank-N-Furter, originally played by Tim Curry? Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester), I'm thinking there's some stockings with your name on 'em!

Proving that when GLEE does a theme episode, it goes all out, two members of the original Rocky Horror Picture Show will appear in the Fox musical comedy’s tribute episode.

E! Online is reporting that roles have been created for Barry Bostwick (Brad Majors the Hero) and Meat Loaf (Eddie the ex-Delivery Boy). They will both play television station managers with “an interesting proposal” for Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch).

Susan Sarandon (Janet Weiss the Heroine) has reportedly expressed interest in appearing, but there is no word yet on whether or not that will happen (oh please, oh please).

I see Finn either as Frank or Rocky and Kurt as Brad... Will would be Rocky or Frank depending on Finn. Either way this would be a fun show... Specially after having seen Finn in the Lady Gaga outfit.

They've been rumored to be working on a remake for a rather long time now. While I'm not dead set against it like many are, I just don't think it's going to actually happen at this point. We shall see. These excerpts from the timeline on the fan club web site summarize the situation nicely:

Quote:
Jul 2002:
A television remake, Rocky Horror: The Second Coming is announced to be in the works, but never sees the light of day.

Oct 2006:
More rumors about a Rocky Horror remake surface, this time with Marilyn Manson in the lead role of Frank.

July 23, 2008:
Variety posts an article that MTV is planning to remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show for television.

Won't be long now before we'll be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Rocky Horror remake rumors. :lol:

Some awkward lyric changes in the EP (mostly on Touch-A), but apart from that it sounds decent.

Transsexual -> Sensational
Heavy Petting -> Heavy Sweating
Seat Wetting -> Bad Fretting (?)
Anything Grows -> Anything Shows
Friendly Hand -> Friendly Man

Quote:
Rocky Horror show creator Richard O'Brien is disappointed that TV show Glee chose to "dilute down" the themes of the musical.

The episode, which pays tribute to the cult musical, airs on TV3 in New Zealand tonight.

O'Brien, who is currently starring as The Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show in Wellington, said he didn't realise that the hit TV show was going to "dilute" his creation.

"It's very odd. They couldn't use the word 'transsexual' for some reason or other and I couldn't work out the thinking there.

"I don't understand how that word could be misinterpreted. It's just a term, like saying a girl or a boy."

"Janet Jackson's nipple shows in a video and the country falls apart. Uproar! Shock! Horror! There's this strange morality," O'Brien said.
